The Short Version

Stocks had a strong Wednesday. Every TSP fund finished higher, led by the S Fund at +1.52% and the C Fund at +1.16%. Yields eased, which gave bonds a small lift. The G Fund did what it always does and barely moved.

How the TSP Funds Finished

C Fund closed at $110.0624, up 1.16%. It tracks the S&P 500, which gained the same 1.16%. That is the cleanest match on the board. Even with the jump, the C Fund is down 1.25% over five days and up just 0.29% for the year.

S Fund closed at $106.1861, up 1.52%. It follows the Dow Jones U.S. Completion index, which covers mid-sized and smaller companies. This was the biggest one-day gain of any fund. It is also the year-to-date leader at +4.44%, with a five-day gain of 0.83%.

I Fund closed at $57.5458, up 0.67%. It tracks MSCI ACWI ex-US ex-China, so it rose with global stocks but by less than U.S. shares. It is up 2.71% for the year.

F Fund closed at $20.8919, up 0.25%. It follows the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate bond index. The 10-year Treasury yield fell to 4.253% (down 0.98% on the day), and falling yields push bond prices up. The F Fund is still down 0.22% over five days.

G Fund closed at $19.6363, up 0.01%. It earns a Treasury-based rate and does not swing with the market. It is up 0.09% over five days and 0.23% for the year.

The L Funds

The L Funds blend the five core funds, so their gains line up with how much stock each one holds. L Income, the most conservative, rose 0.30%. L 2030 gained 0.61%, L 2040 gained 0.76%, and L 2050 gained 0.86%.

L 2055 through L 2075 all gained 1.03%, with identical five-day (-0.39%) and year-to-date (+1.65%) figures. They appear to share the same allocation mix.

Moves Over 1%

The S Fund (+1.52%) and C Fund (+1.16%) both topped 1%, as did the L 2055, 2060, 2065, 2070 and 2075 funds at +1.03%. On the other side, the C Fund's five-day drop of 1.25% is the only five-day decline over 1%.

What Moved IRA Holdings

The index and ETF figures below are labeled as the prior session's close. The S&P 500's gain matches the C Fund's exactly, so they look like the same move.

The S&P 500 rose 1.16% to 6,875.62. The Dow gained 1.21% to 49,077.23, and the Nasdaq Composite added 1.18% to 23,224.82. The gains were nearly even across the three, with no sharp split between tech and the rest.

That carried into the broad ETFs. Vanguard Total Stock Market (VTI) rose 1.19% to $339.08. Vanguard Total International (VXUS) rose 1.12% to $78.60. Vanguard Total Bond Market (BND) rose 0.28% to $74.14, in step with the dip in yields. If your IRA holds a stock fund, an international fund and a bond fund, all three finished green.

What It Means for Your Plan

One good day does not change much. The C Fund is still lower than it was five sessions ago, and a 1.16% gain only brings its year-to-date figure to 0.29%. Days like this one, and days in the other direction, are normal.

If you invest on a regular schedule, the plan is the same today as it was yesterday. This recap is general information, not personal advice, and a single session rarely matters for a plan built over decades.
